21 Dec 10 This Year’s Top Ten Thoughts from RachelMae.com

This year there were alot of moments from Hollywood that we will forget when new ones are created, but my top ten thoughts have something to do with nothing.

Here are my Top Ten Thoughts of 2010

By RachelMae.com here they are in no particular order, even though they are numbered.

Number 10:  I dont want to be a clone.  I dont want the media or anyone else telling me who I am.  I have roots in my family and from where I come from and those things are part of who I am.  I like to be authentic.

Number 9:  Extrinisic materials are not what motivates me.  I am motivated by whats good in life and by justice.

Number 8:  There were not alot of deals during Black Friday.  I saw some good deals like a lap top from Walmart that was a 15.6 inch Toshiba for $186.00 or something.  Another good deal was off of Woot or something it was a 32 inch HDTV for $219.00 and it had no tax and no shipping.  It was a great deal online.  There were some, but I remember when you could get a tv or some item for like a dollar.

Number 7:  Shape Ups really work.  I think Shape Ups really work for those who are active.  They feel like a rocking chair and they are neat shoes.  I like the colors and styles they are coming in.

Number 6:  Dogs.  I always have dogs on my mind.  I saw a dog the other day walking around and I was thinking of how I could help him find his home again or how I could get him to a Humane Society so that he would be alright.  I didnt get a chance to help him, because he seemed like he was going to find his way on his own, but I usually always think of how I can help an animal if they seem lost or need help.  Its better to let the animal be if they seem skiddish, they may be a good dog that just is trying to protect themself.  I love dogs and all animals.

Number 5:  Sherpa Blankets.  Sherpa blankets seem to be the thing this year.  I started buying Sherpa blankets a while ago and they are great.  Sherpa blankets are great for my dogs they love to be like a wolf in sheeps clothing.  And they are perfect for keeping warm.  If you are interested in Sherpa blankets go to sherpablanket.com.  I got one of my Sherpa blankets from that site.

Number 4:  Vegetables.  Its easy to get caught up in the signs and the popular restaurants out there, but I have had eating more vegetables on my mind this year and its worked out for me well.  I  maintain a weight and dont have to worry about feeling great, if I am eating great vegetables.  Be sure to wash your vegetables well if you are buying them from the produce isles of your supermarket.

Number 3:  Cold weather.  I love cold weather and its been on my mind since I have been out and about.  I love cold weather, because its great for wearing  jackets and getting a good coffee or hot chocolate.  Its great to enjoy something like weather, it doesnt cost and its for real.

Number 2:  Starbucks.  I have been really thinking about Starbucks.  Just kidding I am not thinking of Starbucks that much, but I do think of it sometimes when I would like a great latte, plain bagel, green tea with no sugar, or another one of their treats.

Number 1:  Family.  I think of my family.  My family is on my mind this year, and every year and my family is not just people.  Its animals too.  I believe that dogs are part of the family.

Those are some great things that Rachelmae.com has been thinking of this year.

15 Dec 10 This years Top Ten Most Impressive People

This year there were alot of facinating and impressive people that were in the public eye, but I narrowed it down to ten people from the public eye that I felt really made a positive impression.

Number 10:  Number 10 on the most impressive list of people in 2010 is Pierce Morgan.  Pierce Morgan managed to stay classy and honest on the show, America’s Got Talent and was one of the best judges.  Pierce kept his words short and his mind open to learn about different talent, but still kept it real while judging.

Number 9:  Number 9 on the most impressive list of 2010 is Martha Stewart.  Martha Stewart has shown her talent is real and lasting.  Having highs and lows in the past couple of years, Martha Stewart has built a wonderful name for herself and continues to be creative.  Martha’s on air personality is delightful to watch and she remains the number one of her kind.

Number 8:  Number 8 on the most impressive list of 2010 is Steve Carrell.  Steve Carrell has kept us laughing on the Office and in all of his movies.  His overall education of acting and comedy makes him one of the most impressing people, because he can keep inventing a character for himself and never grows old.  He is one of the funniest people today and The Office will not be the same without him.

Number 7:  Number 7 on the most impressive list of people in 2010 is Sandra Bullock.  Sandra Bullock has been at the top of her game winning gold for her acting and soon after going through the seperation with her ex husband.  She didnt let that stand in her way of her life and moved on with a strong arm.  Sandra Bullock has shown she can leave Hollywood and focus on whats important to her.

Number 6:  Number 6 on the most impressive list of people in 2010 is actually a tie.  Kurt Warner and Conan O’Brien tie for sixth place.  Kurt Warner is one of the most impressive people, because he stuck it out on Dancing with the Stars and improved and let it loose on the dance floor, despite judges always giving him low scores.  Kurt Warner was classy and showed that he can do more than play football.  And Conan O’Brien is also one of the most impressing people, because he also stuck it out and despite Jay Leno forever keeping his spot as the late night talk show, Conan O’Brien found a new late night home.  Conan seems to be doing great on TBS and gathered more fans than ever.

Number 5:  Number 5 on the most impressive people list is The Duggar Family.  The Duggar family continues to show their strong morals and appear in a positive light on their TLC show.

Number 4:  Number 4 on the most impressive list is Bristol Palin.  Bristol Palin has shown that she is a strong confident lady.  While being on Dancing with the Stars and having lots of attention, Bristol showed that she could make it to the finals and be a winner.  Bristol was classy and showed that she doesnt care about Hollywood and negative views.  And the support of her fans showed, making her a finalist on Dancing with the Stars.

Number 3:  Number 3 on the most impressive list is Tom Bergeron.  Tom Bergeron is a great host on Dancing with the Stars and shows that he can be neutral and professional.  He was one of the best parts of Dancing with the Stars in this last season.

Number 2:  Number 2 on the most impressive list is Tony Parker.  Tony Parker is not a Hollywood star, but he is a professional basketball player that got caught up with a Hollywood diva.  Tony Parker is one of the most impressing people of 2010, because he has shown you can stay classy in a divorce.  Eva Longoria may have over reacted, but its alright because Tony is young and can move on.

Number 1:  Number 1 on the most impressive list is a tie.  Brett Michaels and George Bush tie for number one on the most impressive list.  Brett Michaels has been made a positive impression showing that people can overcome obsticles and work hard.  And George Bush is one of the most impressive people of 2010, because he has shown confidence and intelligence.  These impressive people have much more than these things to be recognized for, but the list would be too long.

Other noteable people are Oprah Winfrey for her favorite things show, she continues to give back.  Dr. Oz has continued to help people through his tv show, Dr. Oz.  Tony Romo for getting hit during a game and still keeping it classy.  And many more.

13 Dec 10 Sarah Palin’s Alaska – Camping

Last night on the popular TLC show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Kate Gosselin and her eight went on a camping trip in Alaska with Sarah and her crew.  Sarah brought along her daughters Willow and Piper, her husband Todd and her dad and brother.  She also brought along the camera crew that caught all the dramatic sighs from Kate.  I am sure that TLC  planned this to get a boost in the ratings of Kate, but it seemed like the ratings of Kate may go down after people have seen her complain about a simple camping trip with Palin.  The camping trip seemed like it wasnt to tough.  I am not a camper, but it didnt seem that bad.  I am sure the weather was freezing.  Kate was right about that I am sure.  But the kids seemed to have a great time, and when they had to choose whether they were a Gosselin or a Palin, some of the kids were saying that they wanted to stay at the camping trip.  Sarahs dad looked like he knew how to be a great science teacher and her family did a good job with entertaining and accomodating a family that wasnt used to roughing it, like their family might be.  Sarah and Kate were obviously not the best of friends, but it was an episode that was eye catching.

Two good families got together, but they showed the differences between how people live.  Alaska

07 Dec 10 Comedians Calm Down

Its time to put the jokes away about Bristol Palin.

Its been how many weeks since Dancing with the Stars has ended?  And almost average comedians and talk show hosts are still making jokes about Bristol Palin.

Her weight and her family have been on the comedians minds as some of their top jokes.  Jimmy Kimmel, the guy from SNL Jimmy Fallon, George Lopez, Kathy Griffin, and in a way Wendy Williams have been hooked by Bristol Palin and are not letting go.

The twenty year old handels the jokes well by not giving them what they want and by not falling down to their level.  Its too bad comedians dont have better jokes.  Bristol Palins weight is an issue?  So who cares she hasnt been under the plastic light.

 Bristol is naturally pretty.

But Kathy Griffin likes the attention.  She does some good things with her D List 50 year old bikini body.  When you’re 50 with plastic surgery and a fake tan, thats your decision.

Bristols a 20 year old knock out that these sour comedians just can get over.

24 Nov 10 Dancing with the Stars where are the peoples choice?

Tonight was the finale of  Dancing with the Stars and the big upset was not the winner, it was how the votes were collected.  The host of the show Tom said that there were the most ever votes from last night, even though there was a “hitch” in the system sometime on their web server.  But did it matter “hitch” or not what happened to the viewers being the final vote and deciding.  I thought that this show is about the viewers voting and they have the say in who wins, kind of like an American Idol where the winner is crowned by its viewers and not by its judges.

The most boring thing to see was when the judges got to have the finale say, not once but twice in the finale show.  Think about viewers the judges decided who won and they knew well before the show was even aired who had what votes.  So that means since Bristol in the finale who did her best dancing got really high viewer votes and so did Kyle, because they got 8′s from the judges.  Jennifer must have gotten really low viewer votes, because she got all 10′ s.  All the dancers got 9′s for their dances too.  But in no way was the judges scoring a realistic approach to deciding the winner.  Even if the judges hadnt seen the viewers votes before the show, they still decided who won.

So whats the point to voting and watching the show, if all this time the show is going to throw a major twist our way?  I have no idea, because when I voted I thought that my votes would count and the same percentage as always.  I heard that the judges were going to use their panels again, when Brooke said it on the Dancing with the Stars Finale show, but I never heard that the judges were going to get to decide the winner.

The final three were the right final three, except Kurt or Fox they were really entertaining and should have been there.  But why let three judges who have their choice of who they want to see be in the final decide for you?

Its just a thought and also a fact.  Now its time to move on to bigger and better things like giving thanks and not wondering who is going to win a show.

I would have liked to see the actual viewer votes, to see who really won and I am talking about the votes that were collected by the viewers, not the percentages and the judges votes.

Just a thought and hey thats how this show did it and thats alright.

Now its time to listen to some Bob Marley and be happy for the final three winners!  Kyle was the best! Bristol is awesome!  And Jennifer is an actual dancer!

19 Nov 10 Oprahs Favorite Things was today

Oprahs favorite things show was today and it was filled with tons of gifts for the audience to make surprise faces over.  Everyone had some sort of face and that is my favorite thing about the show.  Besides Oprahs Over the top exciting voice over brownies and sweaters.  Some people choose to make the face of I cant believe this generosity, and some people made the face of, oh no this couldnt be presents for me.  One of my favorite faces is the face this lady made when she looked down like this just isnt right.  Its a face that looks mad, but that she cant believe it.

Another noteable face was when a lady had the I just got scared face.   If you think that you missed the faces of the audience check out the next episode of Oprah’s favorite things part two (check your local listing for time and date).  The show will have a part two, because the audience that went to the tapping the first time and didnt get in, will be surprised by getting in for part two.  This part two seems like there will be even bigger and better favorite things for the audience.

My favorite things was today when I went to Steinmart and used my coupon.  Speaking of coupons lets talk about how great Groupon was for being so generous.  I heard how generous they were from the Oprah show.

Favorite things!

19 Nov 10 Eva Longoria and Tony Parker miss a good shot

Eva Longoria Parker and Tony Parker have divorced over reported text messages back and forth from a former team mates wife.  Eva is 35 years old and Tony is 28, and the two have been seen out and about enjoying their love for about three years now.  The couple first hit this weeks top celebrity headlines when Tony reportedly filed divorce papers in Texas.  The next reports said that the news was false.

The next day Eva reportedly filed for divorce from Tony and the story was out that Tony had been texting another women for a year.  Eva reported that she saddened by the divorce.  Whatever happened with Tony, the first thought in everyones mind is that Tony cheated on Eva with the other lady.  There is no report of Tony actually cheating, but that there was text messages back and forth.  It doesnt feel good to learn that text messages from your husband or wife have been sent to someone else, but its not actual cheating.  And maybe counseling should be the next step for the couple.

Only Tony and Eva know all the details of why she filed for divorce and best of luck to them.

Good Luck Eva and Tony.

18 Nov 10 Bristol won Dancing with the Stars

Bristol won Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night.  Well she won the voters over.  I am glad that she is still there.  Bristol went from not dancing at all, to dancing and working very hard to become a dancer with “perfect footwork”.  The dislike for Bristol went on a little too long when people made comments on every celebrity magazine and when Ryan Secrest was way late on the story and reported about her last night from his Entertainment Tonight look alike show.

Bristol winning was a sour note for some, because they took it to far and forgot that its not about Republicans and Democrats, that its about a dancing competition and the people voting.  There is no “flawed” system (thanks Maks) there is only a lot of people that supported her for whatever reason they wanted too.  And I didnt know their was that many republicans out there.  So there might have been some democrats voting for her too.  Maybe people voted because she is a regular person, like Kyle.  Bristol may also have been voted for because she is a working single mom.  Bristol is also the type of person that isnt concerned with what other people are saying or doing and she does her own thing.  And what she does is honest and respectable.  Her family got the highest rating on TLC’s Sarah Palins Alaska, so Bristol has a fan base.

I dont think that Sarah Palin really helped Bristol.  Bristol is doing this dance competition on her own and if anything the show would be flawed to be against Bristol.  But the show isnt flawed, the show has showed its honesty and tv value.

Brandy has been in the bottom two since last week, and it just means the voters didnt get out there and vote for her.  It shows that votes are important and to call in.  I heard that people couldnt get thru for voting and that the voting lines were busy or the connection to vote wasnt working well for them, according to what Maks said recently.

I had the same problem voting and I know that some other voters did too.  I wish all the dancers the best.  And Bristol is a star just as much as anyone else that was on the show.  It should be Bristol and Kyle as the final twoBristol and Kyle are nice, entertaining, down to earth, and have become such better dancers than they started out to be.  They have really shown their true talent.

And to the dancers, one thing you should learn is etiquette (Derek) and learn to not make a stupid face when someone is voted off.  And I also heard that Julienne, the one who dated the country singer that did the show a couple of seasons ago, said something about Bristol not winning.  But those things arent important, whats important is that these finalist have class and are doing great.  I am glad Brandy got to learn so much from the competition, from what she said.  And I am glad that she had a great time on dancing with the stars.

Green tea party, no I dont think so.  I think its just a season full of normal people that are dancing great.  Voters are speaking and the final three are Bristol, Kyle, and Jennifer.

Great final three.

11 Nov 10 Black Friday isnt what it used to be

Remember when Black Friday was something you couldnt find out until the ads actually appeared on your front lawn.  Black Friday is really different today, because we can get a sneak peek at the Black Friday ads online way before.  I think its a good thing for the stores, that people see a sneak peek of ads before they are suppose to come out.  It builds the excitement about getting a great deal.

Those lines for Black Friday are still outrageous and probably worse than they ever have been.  I look forward to seeing some lines myself.  I am thinking about braving one of the largest malls on Friday.  It should be atleast entertaining.  I would hope to get a great deal on something.  I am not sure what I want to get yet, but there will be something cheap enough for me to think about waiting in a line for.  At a point I dont think its worth it to wait in a line at 4 am.  I also dont want to deal with any hostility or defensive attitudes.  But I think that keeping my calm and cool attitude if I choose to brave the large crowds of black friday will over make me a winner.  Its one thing to get a great deal and its another thing to get in trouble.  Its just not worth it.  There will always be another great deal you can get.

So there are a couple of things I would recommend for a black friday success.  I would recommend bringing something to read, have a snack, have your money secured, have a bottle of water (if you have somewhere to hold it), you may need a sweater if you are waiting in a line outside, and have your cell phone charged.  A charged cell phone is good, because you can call and share how great a deal you got.

11 Nov 10 Hollywood Dogs

Have you seen dogs that look like they are from big Hollywood movies?  I have seen so many dogs that make me think, is that dog from that movie?

The dogs I see are probably not Hollywood dogs, but they are still so cute.  I have seen Jack Russells that make me think Fraiser is on.  And I have seen Chihuahuas that look like they are from Beverly Hills Chihuahua.  Dogs are so great.

It doesnt matter what the dogs look like or whether they are famous or not.  They should be famous to their owner and respected.  Dogs are great friends.  Whether your dog is adopted, found, or bought it should be given attention, love, respect, and be part of the family.  If you cant watch your dog and give it all the attention it needs, then you should give it to a responsible owner or a local animal shelter that can give it the attention it needs.

When someone gets a dog they should think about getting a vet, choosing a healthy dog food, getting a reliable water bowl, getting a pet bed, a dog collar, a dog leash, and some dog snacks.  A dog doesnt need to be famous to get the attention it deserves.

Dogs are the best.
